"What can I do?" Be heard, be seen!

It's time to get serious.

With the introduction of the Feinstein "assault weapons" ban 2013, and the Minneapolis City Council's lobbying efforts to have state laws changed which will affect not only legal gun owners and carriers, but will have the potential to affect all residents of Minnesota, law abiding gun owners need to make their voices heard on many levels.

Many people are on the sidelines of this issue and don't understand the impact that these laws and actions will have on the rights and safety of everyone. We need to not only share facts with those who are on the sidelines so that they can be educated in order to become our allies along side us, but we need to also be a visible force to let individuals, businesses and other organizations know what impact and influence legal gun owners/carriers have on the economy, society and our neighborhoods (i.e. consumerism, volunteerism, etc...).

One of the ways we can take a small action is by letting businesses know that we patronized them and spent money at their establishment. By doing so, we make them aware that we are their neighbors and customers, and that law abiding gun owners spend money!

We've created a template of "calling cards" that you can print out and cut apart to leave at businesses, in tip jars and send to the managers, etc., to let them know you were there. You could jot the amount of money that you spent at their business on the back of the card, and thank them for respecting your right to legally carry a firearm. It's a small thing, but it will no doubt make an impact. Feel free to use our template as a suggestion and create your own set of cards. It's best to be polite and respectful. Remember, as individuals, we all represent the image of every gun owner in the eyes of the public. Let's put our best foot forward.
